Boston : Weather it's true or not that Excessive milk consumption give bad impact for boys according to the experts of bone health reveals.
A study revealed the department of medicine at Brigham and Women 's Hospital and Harvard Medical School , in Boston recently quite surprising . Researchers from the university said the boys were drinking milk , vulnerable and hip fractures .
as quoted by page everydayhealth , Wednesday ( 11/20/2013 ) , previous researchers curious on previous research that says milk should be an important part of the diet for a teenager for fear of the risk of osteoporosis in the future .
According to the study author , Diane Feskanich , the study was conducted because they we never knew what happened to the child's bone until 50 to 60 years.
" And what we found surprising . Consumption of milk instead we see associated with the increasing risk of fracture was higher among males , but not in women , " said Feskanich .
The researchers analyzed milk consumption patterns in adolescents have been reported in 1986 by the women participating in the Nurses ' Health Study ' and in 1988 by the people who participate in Health Professionals Follow - Up Study .
All participants were white and had a history of consuming milk regularly from age 13 to 18 years .
Feskanich said , there are more than 35,000 men and nearly 62,000 women who were followed for 22 years .
" During this time , 490 cases of hip fractures occurred among more than 1,200 men and more common in women , " he said .
Seeing this, the researchers also looked at a number of factors such as diet , weight, smoking history , exercise patterns , the use of prescription drugs and drinking milk at this time .
" This study provides the fact that bone density is a big problem for men , " he explained .
In response, a distinguished professor in the department of nutritional sciences at Purdue University , Connie Weaver said the findings still have to be discussed again .
" First of all , the basic physiology between men and women should be equal , because calcium is the main mineral in all our bones and is based on the belief drinking milk will make a tad higher and more susceptible to fractures . Moreover also in terms of bone , children develop at different rates so it can not be said on the basis of fracture milk alone , " he said .
